CAP 2019: Ready to Fast? Start Here!

There’s power in the unity of fasting and prayer and we know the heavens are going to open over your life, in CAP and over every petition in this fast.

When we commit to fasting, we will receive more of God and less of ourselves. It is a way to push our old selves away and allow God to work through us.

 

What is fasting?

Fasting is the free-will abstinence from food for spiritual purposes—to seek God’s presence and deepen one’s relationship with Him.

Contrary to the way some people practice it, spiritual fasting is not:

• The avoidance of food to lose weight (though weight loss may be a result).
• A “strategy” or manipulation to get God to do something in particular for us.
• A means to draw attention to ourselves and show how “spiritual” we are.

Fasting should not be engaged in unless it is for the purpose of seeking God in prayer at a greater level. That doesn’t mean we can’t go to God with our needs and requests. Yet the primary purpose of fasting is to seek God Himself and His will, receiving His revelation of what He wants to do in our lives and in the lives of others. (Breakthrough Fast, p. 24)

 

Steps to Fasting Effectively:

1. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you a hunger to fast.
2. Determine the purpose(s) of the fast. – Be specific about what you are asking God to do for you.
3. Choose the type of fast.
4. Prepare your body for fasting. – Prepare two or three days prior to starting your fast, by eating less than usual.
5. Declare the fast before God.
6. Spend quality time with God. – Worship, pray, read, study and meditate on the Word.
7. Present your body to God as a living sacrifice.
8. Ask the Holy Spirit to release His supernatural grace.
9. Elimination distractions.
10. Expect some physical and emotional symptoms.
11. Exercise the full fast.
12. Prepare to come out of the fast. – When you are done with your fast avoid rich foods, introduce small amounts of light foods. (Breakthrough Fast, ch. 8)

 

During our fast in September we will be fasting specifically for:

1. Unusual manifestations of the limitless God.
2. Souls
3. Supernatural encounters with the Holy Spirit.
4. Finances
5. Preachers
6. Healing and miracles
7. Deliverance
8. Change and transformation
9. Hurricanes / weather
10. Attendees from all over the world, USA and Miami
11. Prophetic words for nations and the body of Christ.
12. Pray against plans and assignments of the enemy.

 

This fast will take place September 3-23, 2019.

1st week: One meal a day.

2nd week: Fruits and vegetables.

3rd week: Total fast, liquids only.
